Researchers trawling through the Ashley Madison hack data have discovered which passwords its members were using the most.
It’s not what members of the cheating site need, but there’s even more bad news: Their information security and password practices are as bad as everyone else’s.
You can probably guess the top five passwords, but here they are anyway:
- 123456 [120,511 users]
- 12345 [48,452 users]
- password [39,448 users]
- DEFAULT [34,275 users]
- 123456789 [26,620 users]
“Qwerty”, “abc123” and “1234567” all make appearances in the top ten, and the researchers discovered some more entertaining efforts in the rest of the data.
